Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Joe received her B.S. in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Joe's professional interests include ophthalmology, internal medicine, and behavior, and she is Fear Free Certified. Dr. Joe and her husband share their home with their daughter (Mabel), their Old English Sheepdog (Finnick) & their two domestic shorthair cats (Sir Bonkers and Caolila). In her free time, Dr. Joe enjoys traveling, hiking/camping, cooking & enjoying great restaurants around Chicago.
Dr. Nick attended University of Illinois for both his Bachelor of Science (2012) and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (2016). He began working in the veterinary field in 2009, and was inspired to pursue veterinary medicine after his interest in science and medicine, along with his love for animals. Dr. Niemiec says one of the best parts of working in veterinary medicine is helping families and their pets while experiencing new challenges and successes every day.
Dr. Kanak received her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Campaign in 2014 where she graduated with honors. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 2018. Dr. Kanak was the recipient of the Dr. Edward C. Khuen Excellence in Dentistry Scholarship in 2018.
In addition to dentistry, her clinical interests in veterinary medicine also include soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine, and shelter medicine. Dr. Kanak strives for quality medicine and exceptional care with all of her patients.
Dr. Kanak grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, specifically to Colorado during the winter months for leisurely skiing. She also enjoys working out and spending her summers reading by the pool. She has a Golden Retriever named Muddy who is three years old. She also has a family dog named Kenzie who she adopted from the Bahamas as a stray just before starting her first year of veterinary school.
